There's a new Ferrari on the way and its arrival is imminent. In a post uploaded yesterday to the manufacturer's Instagram account, a highly stylised rear view can be seen, along with the slogan "dare to imagine".
While the rendering does leave quite a lot to the imagination, one or two things are readily apparent. For starters, while the marque's recent return to four-light layouts remains, those tail lamps are considerably squarer than any we've seen on a Ferrari for quite a while. Then there are the two enormous centre-exit exhausts, which mirror those seen on recent test mules.
Taken as a whole the shape, dare we say it, has a slight air of the Lamborghini to it, but that shouldn't do anything to counter Ferrari CEO Louis Camilleri's claim that the model will be a "true beauty." Camilleri made that pledge during the company's Q1 earnings call earlier this month, and also said at the time that the car, codenamed the F173, will be a "top-of-the-line hybrid with supercar performance".
While the new model isn't expected to be a direct successor to the LaFerrari, then, it's reckoned that the new hybrid powertrain beneath its rear deck - one likely based around a 3.9-litre twin-turbo V8 - will output as much as 1,000hp. Whatever the case, we don't have long to wait to find out; the reveal is due imminently.
